Soccer Field Lighting Design Standards and Field Dimensions Guide
The basic dimensions of a soccer field are categorized as follows:
1. The playing area for 5-a-side soccer is rectangular, measuring 25–42 meters in length and 15–25 meters in width. For international competitions, the field dimensions must be: 38–42 meters in length and 18–22 meters in width.
2. Dimensions for 7-a-side soccer: 65–68 meters in length and 45–48 meters in width.
3. 11-a-side football pitch dimensions: length 90-120m, width 45-90m; international competition standard dimensions: length 105-110m, width 68-75m.
Football pitch illumination can be categorized into outdoor and indoor pitches. Illumination standards for outdoor (indoor) football pitches are as follows: Training and recreational activities: 200 lx (300 lx) Amateur matches: 300 lx (500 lx) Professional matches: 500 lx (750 lx) General TV broadcasts: 1000 lx (1000 lx) Major international matches for HD TV broadcasts: 1400 lx (1400 lx)
